Laser Pre Care - Precautions to take BEFORE laser hair removal
No Sun exposure for four weeks prior to your appointment.
You must be off Accutane four to six months before your first treatment.
Do not take aspirin 7 days before your appointment. Aspirin is a blood thinner that can cause bruising and skin sensitivity after your appointment.
No tweezing, waxing, or epilation two weeks prior, as well as in between your sessions. When you tweeze or wax, you are removing the hair follicle from the bulb, which is what the laser targets and destroys during your treatments. However, please shave the day before your appointment!
No skin lightening products for 3-4 weeks
Do not use self-tanner or spray tan products for at least 2 weeks before your treatment to avoid potential injury.
Avoid drinking more than 2 alcoholic beverages 24 hours before your treatment.
Other photosensitive medication (antibiotics) will need to be avoided during treatments as well.
Vitamin A or retinol products must be discontinued for a minimum of 3- 5 days in the treatment area prior to hair removal treatments and 3-5 days after treatment.
Do not exercise before the treatment.
You can use numbing cream prior to the treatment. You should be wear it 45 minutes before and use alcohol swab to clean the area first and apply a layer of numbing cream. Numbing cream is available at the store. Please buy before you come for the session
Laser Post Care - Precautions to take AFTER laser hair removal
Do not rub the treated area while bathing
Avoid hot water for 24-48 hours after your appointment.
No makeup on the irritated area
No sauna, hot yoga, extensive workouts for 48 hours after your appointment
Use ointment or lotions on irritated areas
No exfoliants on the treated area 48 hours
No tanning or sun exposure to the treated area for 2 weeks
Do apply an icepack on the treated area to reduce pain, discomfort, or irritation
Do apply Stone crop products or calming creams for 3 days after the treatment. (Available in store)
Do wear loose clothes to avoid friction on the treated area for 48 hours
Do keep treated area clean and dry for 48 hours.
Drink plenty of water.
Do use at least SPF 50 sunscreen with Zinc for at least 2 weeks
Avoid scratching the treatment area if blistering or crusting occurs, as this can cause scarring
Avoid the application of perfumed products
Avoid anything that involves chlorine (e.g. swimming) for 48 hours
Avoid shaving the treated area for 72 hours after treatment
